Defining Structure: EDDs and Other Tools teaches building structured FrameMaker templates. While its main focus is on design and implementation of FrameMaker Element Definition Documents (EDDs), it also includes material on conversion tables for adding elements to unstructured, legacy documents, and on setting up HTML conversion.

Prerequisites:

Good working knowledge of the FrameMaker structured authoring environment (provided by Authoring Structured Documents)
Working knowledge of formatting FrameMaker documents (provided by Formatting Structured Documents)

Experience with XML or SGML is helpful but not required.

Using hierarchical styles to control document formatting
Defining automatic insertion of elements
