Authoring Structured Documents
presents the end-user view of editing FrameMaker structured documents.
It describes how to work
with a structured template to edit existing documents or create
new documents from scratch. No previous FrameMaker experience
is required. Topics include:
- Starting FrameMaker and setting up its working environment
- Opening, printing, saving, and closing documents
- Saving documents as HTML and PDF
- Adding new text as well as editing or deleting existing text
- Using the FrameMaker clipboard to cut, copy, paste, and clear text
or graphics
- Using the Element Catalog to guide authoring
- Using the Structure View and Element Catalog to manipulate elements
- Navigating through structured documents and observing
context-sensitive formatting
- Working with an element's attributes
- Adding structured cross references, variables, footnotes, and
anchored frames to a document
- Working with structured tables
- Working with structured books
- Validating a structured document and correcting any errors that might
occur in the structure
